Patient: 38 year-old female post-coma with retinal whitening
History:
  • 38 year-old female
  • 5 d Hx cough/malaise/weakness
  • Respiratory arrest in ER, seizure, cardiac arrest...resuscitated
  • Negative past ocular Hx
Medical Problems:
  • Diabetes-glucose 1698
  • Seizures due to electrolyte imbalance
  • Pancreatitis
    -Amylase 1530 u/L (N range 20-100 u/L)
    -Lipase 5088 u/L
Ophthalmic exam:
  • VA - CF @ 1 ft OU
  • Pupils - no RAPD
  • IOP 11, 12, mm Hg
  • Slit Lamp Exam - Normal anterior segment
  • Fundus:

  • Capillary nonperfusion macular region OU
  • Sparing along large vessel walls
