Disc edema/papilledema: Disc edema is axonal swelling , tissue edema and vascular congestion. If due to increased intracranial pressure, this is papilledema. Note the elevation of the disc and the dilated vessels present. Clinically, disc edema shows elevation, vascular congestion or hyperemia, obscruration of vessels and hemorrhages. Back to Optic Nerve
