Capillary
Hemangioma: This is the most common primary benign tumor
of the orbit in children, enlarging over the first year of life.
Usually involving the eyelids, capillary hemangiomas are described
as a "strawberry nevus" due to the red, elevated appearance
of the tumor on the lid. The tumor blanches with pressure
and usually involves the medial upper eyelid. Most tumors
resolve spontaneously, however if the hemangioma is large, it
can result in anisometropia, strabismus, or ambylopia. The
lesion is unencapsulated, composed of capillary-sized vessels
with highly cellular stroma. Back
