The William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital is a highly affiliated acute care hospital that is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art tertiary care for more than 240,000 veterans, and over 140,000 visits annually.

Our medical center is affiliated with the University of Wisconsin at Madison, one of the leading academic and research institutions in the United States. This affiliation produces a challenging and stimulating environment in which to work and learn.

The William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital and the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics are academically and physically connected. The two institutions pride themselves on their integrated teaching and medical programs. The two institutions share many resources, including nuclear medicine, angiography, autopsy, and other programs.

To ensure the provision of quality patient care, our hospital employs a staff of approximately 900. This includes a diverse mix of professional and technical staff; each valued as an important link in the provision of our quality health care services. In addition to our staff, we are fortunate to have 350 volunteers who each year donate more than 72,000 hours of their time. These dedicated individuals provide both support services and patient visitation for our inpatients and home care clients.
